I use XP on my main development machine, but have Vista on my notebook. I keep thinking I really need to upgrade to XP on the notebook - I could use the 10% performance increase :(

Yep. I created a small test app and published it with ClickOnce. Works fine.

Nice solution. One comment though: the format string for getting the PublicKeyToken has a bug if there's a 0 in the token. It will drop the 0 if it's the first part of the byte. This code will fix it:

String.Format("{0:x2}", pk[i]);

Thanks Jim!

I have a blog post regarding deploying a VSTO solution when using two zones (MyComputer and LocalIntranet) It's not too bad once you wrap your head around the concepts. But getting comfortable with the CAS system itself was a bit of a doozie.

No, I haven't solved it. The only thing I've been able to get to work is an Excel 2007 project using .NET 3.5 and ClickOnce. And to get THAT to work you have to modify the settings in the "trust center" to trust documents from the network and add the URL to the deplotment site.

I love the ability to use .NET in Office apps (instread of crusty old VBA), but the deployment story stinks.

Jim,
 I encountered the same CLR loading error (with Word). I've been developing this one solution for the past 10 months and never saw it before. Funny, it chose to show up 2 hours before I'm off on a 3 week vacation. Good times!

 Were you able to solve it?

Hi Jim, Thanks for the blog, its been very helpful. Although the new sign tool technique is probably the way to go I'm still interested in your uninstall technique. However the link to ClickOnceReinstall.zip appears to be dead. Do you plan to make it available again? If so I'd like to give it a try.

PS Sorry for trying to register, I was confused!
